He was predeceased by: his parents, Helene Broderick and James Broderick; and his brothers, Jim and Jerry Broderick. He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Ann Broderick (Luke) of Vancouver, BC; his granddaughter Alice; his sisters, Deb Turner, Becky Hopkins and Donna Aldous (Barry); and his sisters-in-law, Lena Kikoak and Bonnie Jones. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and the friends.

John became a grandpa in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 virus was unable to meet his only grandchild, Alice, until this August 2021.
