He is survived by: his wife Felicitas Hidalgo; his children, Jose Hidalgo II (Carolina), Joel Hidalgo, Jean Bériault (Luc) and Jane Hidalgo; his grandchildren, Jose Jacob III, Maya, Tristan, Ashlee, Matthew, Émilie, Zachari and Dagwood; and his siblings, Remedios, Ester, Ella, Elizabeth, Orlando, Leon III and Elvira. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
