He was predeceased by: his spouse Salud Victoria of Calgary; and his son Ernesto (Salud Victoria). He is survived by: his children, Annie Jalotjot-Ramon (Urbana) of Calgary, Rolando Bernardo-Janette of Calgary, Rosita Avelino of Manila, Manolito Bernardo of Manila and Priscilla Bernardo of Calgary. He is also survived by grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
