He was predeceased by: his brothers, Allan and Gordon; and his stepsiblings, Marion Baker and Frank Baker. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne; his children, Nadine Young (Cameron) of Pitt Meadows, B. C. and Vern Greenway (Tammy) of Rosewood, MB.; his grandson Matthew Young (Tessa); his great grandchildren, Elliana, Caleb and Benjamin; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Young, Joshua Young, Thomas Greenway, Kyrsten Thomas (Brandyn) and Rachel Greenway; and his stepsister Myrle Chynoweth of Wainwright.
