He was predeceased by: his brother Robert (Bob); his wife Jean; his son Kenneth; his grandson Bradley McKay; and his son-in-law William McKay (Bill).

He is survived by: his children, Kenny and Diane McKay; his daughter-in-law Mary Leech; his grandchildren, Katherine Domville (Russell), Dylan Leech (Ailsa), Angus Leech (Susan) and Jessica Leech (Nathan Maycher); his great grandchildren, Sasha McKay, Cole Domville, Jake Domville, Kaia Maycher, Leif Maycher and Sage Leech; his nieces, Patty King and Christine Collins; and his nephew Tim Leech.
