He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Newman and Ivy Newman; his son Sandy; and his daughter-in-law Karen. He is survived by: his wife Patricia McManus (Paddy); his children, John (Louise Morrison), Peggy Wong (Glenn), Dan (Susan Sinclair) and Barb (Akram Ziada); his grandchildren, Rachel Lesser (Andrew), Lorelei Wong (Jon Lien), Liz Newman (Shane Sercombe), Clare Newman, Andy Ziada, Dan Morrison (Candace Moriyama), Heather Griffiths (Lachlan) and Sarah Morrison; his great grandchildren, Brooke, Riley, Zoe, Eli, Alex, Mason and Ethan; and his brothers, Lester (Agnes) and Errol (Dorothy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
