He was predeceased by: his father Ping Shae Chan. He is survived by: his wife Teryn Chan of Calgary, AB; his children, Esther and Aiden; his mother Goay Ngoh Chew; and his siblings, Andy Chan (Leon Chung) and Liew Jin Chan (Leon Goot Chan). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
