He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fong and Dorothy Pauline Fong; and his granddaughter Penny. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Lyn (late Jimmy) and Colin (Dorothy); his grandchildren, Geoff, Jason (Franny) and Melody (Trevor); his great grandchildren, Ariana and Asher; and his siblings, Joyce, Gay (Ray) and Del. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
