She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Swanson and Mabel Swanson (Bennett); her husband Erven Fester; and her siblings, Carl, Emily, Lena and Hilda.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Fester (Barb), Forrest Fester and Melody Gordey (Kerry); her grandchildren, Nathan Fester (Tiffany), Jonathan Fester (Caitlynn), Timothy Gordey (Candice), Megan, Kindrie O'Rourke (Paul) and Charis Gordey (Matthew); and her siblings, Derek Swanson and Nancy Nixon. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
