Lubka Nikolova Mintcheva Obituary
Lubka Mintcheva, 86, passed away peacefully and in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her family home in Calgary on March 14, 2022.
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria on December 17, 1935, Lubka was the daughter of a high ranking officer in the Royal Bulgarian Army. She graduated with a Gold Medal from her high school in Sofia and with Magna Cum Laude from the Technical University of Sofia as an Electrical Engineer. After working in the industry for 10 years, Lubka became a high-ranking administrator at the Bulgarian Ministry of Science until her retirement in 1995.
After the passing of her beloved husband Pavel in 2015, Lubka joined her son Martin's family in Calgary, Alberta in 2016 and witnessed the growth of her two grandsons Paul and Martin Jr, as well as the birth of her beloved granddaughter Victoria in 2017.
She will be missed by her son Martin, her daughter-in-law Violeta, her grandchildren Paul, Martin Jr, and Victoria, and her relatives and friends in Bulgaria, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, and the USA.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Holy Martyr Peter the Aleut Orthodox Church on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 11:00am with a Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
