As Maria departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Maria may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Maria leaves behind.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Raposo; her children, Frank Raposo and Jeannie Alves (Manuel); and her grandchildren, Nicholas Raposo, Lisa Raposo, Michael Alves, Anthony Alves and Thomas Alves.
A vigil service was held on Wednesday, February 25th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (4747 30 St SE, Calgary, AB T2B3K5). Viewing was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery (1605 100 St SE, Calgary, AB T1X0L4).
