It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marion Barnes in Calgary, Alberta, born in Brandon, Manitoba, who passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her grandmother Mary; her former husband Thomas Gill; her husband Robert Barnes (Bob); her parents, John Harold Coates (Jack) and Gladys McInerney Coates; and her brothers, David and Fred.
She is survived by: her daughter Michelle; her son-in-law Jeff; her grandchildren, Hannah (Nick) and Alex; and her pet Luna.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Anglican Church (2828 19 St NW, Calgary, AB T2M3V8). During the pandemic, Marion made the choice to move to Calgary, AB, after living in Cheyenne for 63 years, to be near her daughter Michelle and her family.
