It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice Simmons (Calgary, Alberta), born in Alix, Alberta, who passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Simmons and Alice Simmons; his former wife Eileen Torgerson; his siblings, Bob Simmons and Pat McCord; his siblings-in-law, Alice Simmons, Alton McCord and Ivar Botnen; his niece Linda Botnen; and his great-nephew Michael Giesbrecht.

He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, David Simmons (Leanne) and Sheila McKeating (Ken); his sister-in-law Gladys Botnen; and his cousin England. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces.
