He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan Phyper and Helen Phyper; his wife Judy; and his sisters, Ellen and Theresa.
He is survived by: his son Evan (Zoraida Espinoza); his grandson Sebastian; his children, James (Abi) and Alyssa Garneau (Brett); his grandson Wilfred of Calgary; and his siblings, Bruce (Minako) of San Diego, CA, Ian (Terri Matheson) of Calgary and Brenda of Ecuador.
