She was predeceased by: her parents, Anelia Smolik and Vince Smolik; and her siblings, Walter and Wanda. She is survived by: her husband Earl; her children, Bruce and Kathy (Derek); and her grandchildren, Brayden and Rebecca.

Sadly, Nellie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and Earl cared for her for many years at their home.
