It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter Schmaltz (Calgary, Alberta), born in Beiseker, Alberta, who passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Maxine Schmaltz; his children, Peter Kim Schmaltz (Sarah), Karen Brigan (John) and Mark Schmaltz; his grandchildren, Peter Schmaltz (Carey), Amanda Rieger (Craig), Jeff Schmaltz (Rachel), Josh Miner (Jacqueline), Becky Gosine (Sherard), Brittney Tetz (Tyson), Carlene Schmaltz (Kyle) and Alyse Schmaltz; and his great grandchildren, Quinn, Peter Schmaltz (Barret), Sienna, Scarlett, Sophie Rieger, Owen Miner, Zoey Lehnerz, Conner Segal, Felicity Gosine, Levi, Sayler and Corbin Tetz.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Peter and Maxine's Residence.

Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
