We announce the death of Quang Tru Tran (Calgary, Alberta), who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 96. Quang will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Quang will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Quang will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Quang’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He is survived by: his wife Hao; his daughter Susan; his son-in-law Don; his son Steve; his daughter-in-law Boi Boi; and his grandsons, Calvin (Ellen) and Theodore.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre St N, Calgary, AB T2E2V6).
Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
