He is survived by: his parents, Dayalatha Weeratunga and Don Rathnasiri Weeratunga; his wife Diyamanthi Weeratunga; and his children, Sachini, Ishini and Praveen.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Spirit Parish (10827 24 St SW, Calgary, AB T2W2Z2).
