We announce the death of Richard Allan King of Calgary, Alberta, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 94. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John King (Jack) and Winnifred King (Wallace); and his sister Olive. He is survived by: his wife Barbara King of Calgary, AB; his daughters, Janice Thomas (Lee), Cindy Moar, Catherine King and Allison Ross (Stewart); his grandchildren, Alex, Josh, Spencer, Jenna, James, Christopher, Corey, Robyn, Caroline, Carter, Zach, Jett and Cameron; his close friend Doug Stoneman; and his son-in-law Nick Moar.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home (14441 Bannister Rd SE, Calgary, AB T2X3J3).
Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
