He was predeceased by: his son Brian; his wife Audrey; his parents, Dorothy Abernethy and Edward Abernethy; and his sister Elaine Keating.

He is survived by: his sons, Wayne (Sandra) and David (Carol); and his grandchildren, Robert, Krista, Tyler (Haley), Alysha and Brody. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
