He was predeceased by: his father John Mayer; his wife Maureen Warren; his mother Myrtle Mayer; and his siblings, Audrey Pylychaty, Robert "Bob" Mayer and Katherine "Kathy" Thompson.

He is survived by: his children, Gregory (Wendy), Stephen (Albina), Jeffrey (Laurie), Norma Mayer-Judson (Stanley) and Michelle Richelhoff (Perry); his daughter-in-law Anna; his grandchildren, Jessica Greenhow (Ben), Thomas Mayer (Claire), Melissa Mayer, Melanie Middleton-Hope (Ryan), Alicia Mayer and Geri Mayer-Judson (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Lydia Greenhow, Liam Greenhow and Brooklyn Middleton-Hope. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends and neighbors.
