She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Yasuo Tano; her sister Mika; her sister-in-law Machiko; her children, David (Monica) and Kenji (Miki); her grandchildren, Rachel, Ethan, Bella, Taiki, Sora and Riri; her parents, Akio "Papa" Akutagawa and Chieko "Bubbe" Akutagawa; her brother David Akutagawa; and her brother-in-law Philip Hatano.
