Steve Vavra Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Steve Vavra (Calgary, Alberta), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 11, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernadina and Ludvig; and his brother Stanley. He is survived by: his wife Murdeen; his children, Cheryl, Greg (Jody), Terry, Karen and Murray; his grandchildren, Mitch, Tyler (Megan), Jade (Sam), Rachel, Elyse and Eric; and his great grandchildren, Wren and Bennett. He is also survived by extended family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted by The Integrated Post-Secondary Education Society of Alberta (IPSESA), an organization devoted to inclusive education and employment which Steve and Murdeen worked tirelessly to establish over three decades ago.
