He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Grace Ballard and Ray Ballard. He is survived by: his friend Lindsay; his wife Lindsay; his mother Patricia Nelson; his parents-in-law, Susan, Grayson Schalin and Malinda Dyck; and also, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Barbara, Bill Boyd, John Boyd (Michelle), Karen Irving, Brooke Barnes and Phil Nelson.

Although Troy lost his battle, he would have taken solace in knowing that the blood donations made in his name will save many other lives.
