He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Helen; his children, Kathy Speck (Jay), Karen Maxwell (Roy), Tobi Smith (Martin Kellner) and Dave Smith (Dawn); his stepdaughters, Denise DeBellonia (Mike) and Dana Northey (Bruce); and his grandchildren, Sean, Keltie Maxwell, Deanna, Leah DeBellonia, Angie and Zoe Smith.
