He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Foster and Ethel Foster. He is survived by: his siblings, Janet Foster of Maple Ridge, B. C., Michael Foster (Lyse) of Cochrane, A. B., Bill Foster (Darlene) of Bragg Creek, A. B., Tom Foster (Laura) of New Westminster, B. C. and Betty Fisher of Edmonton, A. B.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Walter's name to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
