Wilma Stech Obituary

We announce the death of Wilma Stech of Calgary, Alberta, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 92. Wilma will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Wilma will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Wilma will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Wilma’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.

She was predeceased by: her husband Bohuslav Stech (Bob) of Calgary, AB; her parents, Katherine Heitkemper (Schröder) and Johannes Heitkemper; and her sister Ursula Deutschmann (Heitkemper). She is survived by: her children, Nancy Tchir (Bill) and Gordon (Yvonne Gazzard); and her grandson Matthew Tchir.

Additional memorial trees will be planted through Canadian conservation and reforestation initiatives, as a result of memorial contributions.
