He was predeceased by: his parents, John Olesen and Bente Olesen; his siblings, Lise Arnouse and Peter; his brothers-in-law, Alan Fossen and Rick Niven; his father-in-law Irvin Bjornson; his nephew Darwin Pchelnyk; and his niece Robin Arnouse.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Sue; his pet Tiddler; his wife Gail; his children, Jeremy Olesen (Desirae Drever) and Melissa Kuicnskas (Brad); his granddaughter Gracie; his siblings, Mona Fossen, Finn Olesen (Lorrie), Irene Hohlbein (Pete), Else Smart and Anne Pchelnyk (Wes); his in-laws, Oliver Arnouse, Dale Bjornson (Ann), Sue Niven and Kathy Grice (Bob); and his mother-in-law Jean Bjornson. He is also survived by his family often saying if Papa/Dad.
