He was predeceased by: his wife Bhagwan Dhaliwal; his children, Gurdev, Jagroop Dhaliwal, Paramjit Dhaliwal and Harpal Mann; and his children-in-law, Harbans Pandher, Teja Sandhu, Baldev, Palwinder and Surjit Dhaliwal.
He is survived by: his children, Baljit (Sharanjit Dhaliwal), Major Dhaliwal, Harjinder (Sherjang Bassi), Manjit Pandher and Charanjit Sandhu; and his son-in-law Gian Singh Mann. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
