He was predeceased by : his parents, Irwin Trotter and Grace Clarke; his stepfather Jack Clarke; his children, Sydney Trotter and Craig Trotter; his daughter-in-law Anna; his brothers, Orman Trotter and Allen Trotter; and his son-in-law Larry Wintemute.

He is survived by : his children, Ron Trotter (Carol), Christine MacLeod (Rory), Laurel Wintemute, Kathy Trotter and Jason Trotter (Tamara); and his spouse Norma Strong. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
