He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis DeMaere and Edith DeMaere; and his brothers, Leonard and Kenneth. He is survived by : his wife Norma Dahl; his children, Kevin DeMaere (Julie), Carmen Stronski (Bill) and Karen DeMaere (Brad); his great grandchild Leo; his siblings, Marian Lang, Norman DeMaere (Judy) and Cameron DeMaere (Jackie); and his sister-in-law Linda DeMaere.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Claresholm and District Health Foundation.
