She is survived by: her husband Doug MacDonald; her daughter Brooklyn Bullock; her mother Lucille Prokopyshen; her siblings, Jerry Prokopyshen (Cindy) and Pauline Prokopyshen (Bruce Manuel); her uncle Frank Prokopyshen (Nancy); and her caregiver Tanya Kettle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in memory of Sandra may be sent to the MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre, PO Box 415, Merville, B.C., V0R 2M0.

“To Sandra's family - MARS members who worked with Sandra back at our old location on Headquarters Road would like to extend heartfelt condolences on her recent passing. I recall her special love of little Sawyer who was a one eyed, one winged Saw-whet owl. The two of them would visit schools and community events talking to kids and adults about wildlife and nature. Although we lost touch when she, Doug and Brooklyn moved to Cold Lake she will always be part of the "MARS Family".”
