He is survived by: his wife Janet Sauerwein of Cowley, AB; his children, Darlyn Garrett (Patrick) of Taber, AB, Pat Sauerwein (Debbie) of Lethbridge, AB, Kristopher Sauerwein (Nadia) of Calgary, AB and Heather Jaeb (Michael) of Victoria, BC; his grandchildren, Emma Louise Jaeb, Linette James (Jason) and Brandon Weilerman; his great grandchildren, Bella James and Jasper James; his siblings, Robert Sauerwein (Gay) of Lethbridge, AB, Stanley Sauerwein (Bobby) of Sparwood, BC and Patricia Kruse (Dale) of Lethbridge, AB; his brother-in-law Bryan Warriner (Susan) of Didsbury, AB; and also, Ute Langner (Gerd) of Wurzburg, Germany Greiter and Marianne Greiter of Kempten. He is also survived by his father in 1996, his mother.
