It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chester Robert Spornitz (Czar, Alberta), born in Edgerton, Alberta, who passed away on April 16, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest "Boob" Spornitz and Jenny Spornitz; his son Robert "Bob"; and his siblings, Victor "Bud" (Marj), Ann (Chuck) and Delores.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Fleming; his grandchildren, Adrienne (Travis) and Jeff (Mercedes); his daughter Wendy Hoff (Grant); his grandsons, Brant (Zarah), Graham (Francesca) and Brody; his daughter Myrna Southoff (Bob); his grandchildren, Garrett (Nicole) and Ashley (Mason); his daughter Corinne Johnston (Don); his grandchildren, Tanner (Alyssa), Nolan (Bree), Dakota and Tristan (Jaiden); his son Dean (Michelle); his grandchildren, Denton, Easton, Regan (Aswin), Cash (Avery) and April; and his great grandchildren, Alicia, Derek, Luke, Kennedy, Logan, Chance, Rey, Juno, Daisy, Iris and Violet. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
