She was predeceased by : her parents, John Kluthe and Clara Kluthe; her siblings, Joe (Dorothy), Ben (Bilda), Johnny and Eileen (John Kaup); and her husband John McDonell.

She is survived by : her children, Dianne Malanchen (Gary), Gyle Tenpas (Len) and Dale (Kathy); her grandchildren, Wendy, Christopher, Sherry (Greg), Shanon (Steven), Nicholas, Chelsea (Del) and Kolten; her brother Rodney (Marlene); her sister-in-law Alice; and her brother George. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
