Elva Mary DeGroote Obituary

We announce the death of Elva Mary DeGroote (Drayton Valley, Alberta), who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Elva will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Henry Joseph De Groote; her parents, Milda Thompson (Haase) and William Thompson; her brother Don Thompson; and her granddaughter Carley Marshall.

She is survived by: her children, Lora Lee DeGroote (Gord Liske) and Kelly Ann DeGroote-Olsen (Ken Olsen); her grandchildren, Tenille Gibbons, Miranda Gibbons (Ryan) and Darby Marshall (Josh); her great grandchildren, Jordan Gibbons (Cody), Azalea Melnychuk and Reverie Deveau; her sister-in-law Dianne Thompson; and her nieces and nephews, Dara Semchyshen (Terry), Tannis Thompson, Craig Foster (Brenda) and Randy Foster (Cordelia).
