He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto and Mabel; his sister Laurie; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis and Ron.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannette; his daughters, Cheryl (Rik) and Tracey (Paul); his grandchildren, Alyssa, Lee, Vickie, Katie and Amy; his great grandchildren, Luke and Kepler; and his sister Carol. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the MacKenzie Conference Centre (5737 45 Ave, Drayton Valley, AB T7A0B6).
Phil spent a lot of years working in the oilfield in the Drayton Valley area and knew the oilfield area very well – there was hardly a pipeline or wellsite he did not know – he repaired pumps, sold oilfield equipment and did oilfield contracting ending his 24 years with Amoco Canada (BP) Donations can be made to DVCF (Riopel Family Fund).
