He was predeceased by: his parents, Lilian DeMott and Thomas DeMott; his sister Joyce Martin; his brother-in-law Charles Martin; his sister Ione Thompson; his brother-in-law Jack Thompson; his brother Eugene DeMott; and his sister-in-law Agnes DeMott.

He is survived by: his wife Dolores DeMott; and his great grandchildren, Wayne, Charlene DeMott of Victoria, BC, Rebecca, Rachel, Samuel, Briony, Jeff, Kathy DeMott (Drumheller), Kristyne, Karen, Glenn DeVoogd of Long Beach, CA, Josef and Skylar. He is also survived by three children, seven grandchildren.
