He was predeceased by : his parents, Alex Batt and Maria Batt; his son Danny Batt; his granddaughter Kaitlin Robins; and his siblings, Jake Batt, Victor Batt, Ed Batt, George Batt, Kathe Lapuchin, Lydia Kalnchuk and Emmie Hirsh.

He is survived by : his wife Diane Batt; his children, Tim Batt (Jan) and Marie Robins (Tom); his granddaughters, Ashley Rosenau (Mike), Britt Batt and Chloe Robins (Noah Pohl); his great grandchild Dean Rosenau; and his brothers, Joe Batt (Bettyann) and Peter Batt (Mardeen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 6th 2021 at 7:00 PM at the Connelly McKinley Edmonton South Chapel (4820 Meridian St NW, Edmonton, AB T6P1R3). A prayer was held on Tuesday, April 6th 2021 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 7th 2021 at 10:00 AM at the same location. Due to COVID regulations of 20 attendees, the funeral and prayer service is limited to invited family only.

“I worked with Alex from 1978. We planned many tower crane ERECTION, dismantle, and jacks in Edmonton, Saskatchewan, Yellowknife, and surrounding areas. He was a good teacher, storyteller, hard worker, and I enjoyed working with him a lot. He will be swinging those concrete buckets up in heaven.”
