He was predeceased by: his parents, Domingos and Ana; and his brother Antonio. He is survived by: his wife Felicidade; his children, Fernanda Portela and Carlos Portela (Clara); and his grandchildren, Catarina (Adam), Marco and Sergio. He is also survived by many relatives and dear friends.
