Caterina Danzo-Espezel Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Caterina (Cathy) Danzo-Espezel on January 8, 2025, at the age of 61. Our dear Cathy was a daughter, sister, wife, godmother, aunt and friend. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments.

Cathy lived her life to the fullest despite her many health challenges. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and traveling, especially to Hawaii. She was a talented cook who would feed everyone. Her joys were her nephews and nieces (Great) and all of her godchildren. Cathy faced her illness with great strength, positivity, courage, and faith. We would like to thank all of her friends and family who continue to show kindness and support for our family today and over the past six years. Although Cathy is gone, she will be greatly missed by all and forever loved in our hearts.

Left to mourn her loss are her husband Neil, mother Luisa, brothers Victor (Sandy) and Renato, and brothers-in-law Paul (Sharon), Phil (Hilary), Andrew (Dawn) and David (Lyndal), her 18 nephews and nieces and 8 godchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends both in Italy and Canada.

Cathy was predeceased by her father Giacomo (2022), father-in-law Mike (2012), mother & father-in-law Jean (2023) & Keith (2015).

A Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home at 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service at Santa Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 9110 110 Avenue, on Tuesday January 21, 2025, 10:00 AM. Entombment (Burial) to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail.
