He was predeceased by: his wife Olive Modersohn; his parents, Otto Modersohn and Gertrude Modersohn; his brother Wolfgang Modersohn; his parents-in-law, Roderick and Betsy Head; his siblings-in-law, Alvin, Paul, Jimmy, Maria, Hazel, Irene and Mariam; and his friends, Lim, Gert and Heiner.
He is survived by: his children, Randy (Charlene), Whitney (Sandy) and Debbie (Derek); his grandchildren, Tonya, Dustin, Sheldon, Colby and Danielle; his great grandchildren, Gabe, Layne and Cailey; his sister-in-law Nellie Head; his uncle Roderick; and his sister-in-law Betsy Head. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Park Memorial (9709-111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5G0B2). A wake was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Bernard Community School. A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM. A burial was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at the St. Stephen's Cemetery (20303 Meridian St NW, Edmonton, AB T5Y6E6).
