We announce the death of Clayton Verne McWhirter (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 85. Clayton will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret McWhirter (Rasmussen); and his parents, Gladys and Harvey. He is survived by: his children, Lori-Jo Bonaca (David), Jodi Davey (Jim), Shelley McWhirter and Chad McWhirter (Dawn); his grandchildren, Matthew (Justine), Cody (Jesse), Megan (Robert), Tyson (Kori), Ceili (Connor), Elizabeth, Lucas and Hayden; his great grandchildren, Grace, Henry, River and Hallie; his brothers, Ross (Don), Grant (Michelle) and Kevin (Heather); and his close friend Carolyn Nicholson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery (16204 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5Y6A2).
