David Curial Obituary

It is with shattered hearts and a suspicious amount of unfinished projects that we announce the passing of David Curial, 64, on April 30, 2026. We take solace in knowing he is reunited with his baby brother, Chris. He will be remembered as a charismatic instigator, professional rule bender, and firm believer that wine absolutely belongs in a coffee mug (because who has time for proper glassware?).

Dave was funny, and empathetic in a way that made you feel seen — usually right before he convinced you to do something slightly questionable but absolutely worth it. He loved stirring up just enough harmless chaos to keep life interesting, and he did it all with his signature smile that could get him out of almost anything.

He loved his daughters with a fierceness that was unmatched, except for his late Portuguese Water Dog, Tiamo (aka Diablo). They were his pride, his joy, and the only people (and pup) who could truly put him in his place. He also leaves behind an army of friends, neighbours, and past coworkers who knew that if you needed help, Dave was already on his way — tools in one hand, beer in the other.

He was known for his unforgettable smile, his giving spirit, and for being the best neighbor you could ever have — the kind who'd lend you a drill, fix your fence, stay for a "quick" drink that lasted three hours, and somehow leave with one of your wrenches.

A celebration of remembrance will be held at 10340 42 St, Edmonton, Alberta on May 9, 2026, between 2 pm - 5 pm. Please drop in for a drink and chat, Dave will be there in spirit, and physically in a red tool box.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Misericordia Community Hospital.
