He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hoover and Mae Hoover. He is survived by: his wife Muriel; his children, Scott (Lori Moffit) and Nicola (Jack Sadorra); his grandchildren, Zachary and Maya; his sister Irene (Ernie Bass); his nephew Todd; and his niece Juanita.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in Don's name to the Centre for Prions and Protein Folding Diseases or a charity of your choice.
