He was predeceased by : his sister Linda Radke; and his parent Tom Lauer. He is survived by : his wife Donna; his children, Holly Lauer (Fred) of St. Albert, Stacey Lauer (Marie) of Airdrie and Michelle Callahan (Bill) of Florida; his grandchildren, Amy Bremner (Andy), Deanna Wachowicz, Alison Lauer, Erika Lauer, Liam Callahan and Jack Callahan; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Celeste Bremner; his siblings, Joy Groom (Ernie) of Red Deer and Mike Lauer of Ponoka; and his brother-in-law Wayne Radke of Red Deer.

In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, Alzheimer Society of Canada, or to Crohn's and Colitis Canada.
