He was predeceased by: his wife Herta Guse (Litke); his daughter Petra Readner; his parents, Karl and Maria; and his siblings, Adelgunde, Richard, Helene, Lydia, Adolf, Leo and Harald.

He is survived by: his children, Juergen and Karla (Gord); his grandchildren, Jordan, Chelsie (Eric), Stefan (Rebekah), Brendan (Andrea), Justin (Allie) and Josh; his great grandchildren, Everett, Maria, Olivia, Chloe of Johan, AJ, Alexander, Penelope, Rose Ann, Marc, Lucas and Liana; and his sisters, Erdmunde and Brunhilde.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Serenity South (5311 91 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E6E2). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Edmonton Church of God (7230 Keswick Link SW, Edmonton, AB T6W4R7). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens (16102 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5Y6A2).
