With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frederick Albert Merrett of Edmonton, Alberta, born in Dauphin, Manitoba, who passed away on August 28, 2023 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick Merrett and Ethel Merrett; and his brothers, John and Leonard. He is survived by : his wife Amy; and his children, Fred, Nick, Marilyn and Sandra. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 23rd 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Callingwood Road Presbyterian Church (6015 184 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6M1T8).

His contribution to Canada's Centennial Year celebrations was the organization and conducting of an Ontario tour by a 60-piece concert band of selected musicians from Manitoba.
