He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Raughly and John McGilp; and his brother Ross McGilp. He is survived by: his wife Violet McGilp; his daughters, Trena (Richard), Christie (Jake) and Jessica (Nik); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Brittney, Dylan, Siera, Jacob, Jayden, Esteban, Scarlett, Warren, Lexy and Jade; his great grandchildren, Avarah, Aidyn, Madison, Violet and Lennie; his brothers, Ian McGilp (Tina) and Alastair McGilp (Vicky); and his nieces and nephews, Clair, Taryn, Robyn and Sean.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 4:00 PM at 14432 Township Rd 524, Vegreville, AB T9C1V8.
