He was predeceased by: his parents, Willi Meske and Olga Meske (Milke); his brother Gerd; his parents-in-law, Otto and Maria Raugust (Mueller); his siblings-in-law, Ella Megyesi, Lilly Makus and Fred Blumstengel; and also Alfred (Fritz).

He is survived by: his wife Hildegard (Raugust); his children, Donna Machinski (Clarence), Janet Miller (Jay) and Doug Meske (Cathy); and his grandchildren, Adam Miller, Candice Miller, Jonathon Machinski (Anastasia), Nolan Meske and Benjamin Machinski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories in Heinz's memory.
